Hello all! I hope everyone had a great winter/spring and is ready to get back on the water this summer. I just wanted to take the time and talk about the drought we have experienced all over the west. YES the water will be low. In my experience on the Salt I have seen every water level that has happened over the last 10 years and can say confidently that we will have water.
Fortunately the Salt is a mostly spring fed river. With that being said, as long as the earth has water, so will the Salt. We will be lacking in the addition of the snow melt water as the summer progresses but we should still have a great July. Into August the water will start getting low, but I wouldn’t say it will be danger low. Just may hit the bottom with the boat a bit more, but there will still be plenty of water for the fish. My biggest concern will be water temperature. I am tossing around the idea of offering 3/4 days trips where I will bring snacks and the trip time will be 5-6 hrs just based on how hot the day will be. The price of the 3/4 day would be $525 for 1-2 anglers with all gear provided.
Come September, again low water, but hopefully we will see the days cool down and allow us to stay on the water a bit longer. But we will see what the next few months will bring. If it is a rainy wet summer, then we may just luck out.
With all that being said, im starting to fill in the month of July. Please reach out with any and all questions and lets get on the water together this summer!
Thanks,
Byron
