Good Afternoon! The river is on its way down and its shaping up to be a great early July. We saw a change in the hot, dry weather these last couple of days and had a cold front blow in and out pretty quickly. The river has been dropping every day for the last 5 days and looks like it is shaping up. The bugs are starting to hatch, though the fish cant see them yet, and we should have some starving fish. Fortunately for the Salt, there haven’t been any mud slides this year and we should see some clear water for the first week of July. I love the first few weeks when the water isn’t crystal clear because the fish are very forgiving since they cant see you coming and they are hungry.
As for my availability for July, I only have space for 3 full days left. The dates are 9/12/26. Let me know if you want to get out there for these early season primo conditions! As for August, there are still quite a few days open.
The boat is clean, the rods have new line on them, and I havent even had the seasons first sunburn yet. Cant wait to catch up with everyone. For those of you coming in July, BRING YOUR BUG SPRAY. The mosquitoes this year could be bad in the mornings and evenings with the cool, wet springs there will still be tons of standing water and places the mosquitoes can breed!
