If any of you have been with me in the last few weeks you know that it is a whitefish catching extravaganza. The good news is that trout are still being caught and in the last few days with the water continuing to drop it appears that more and more trout are taking back their homes and pushing out the whitefish.

Rivers/Water Update
The Salt continues to fall everyday and is starting to get close to its normal summer flow. I wouldn’t classify it as high anymore, but its still above where it was last year at this time. The trout seem to be moving back into their holding water and can be found in shallower water if some bugs are present. The key has been to move slow and keep your head on a swivel. The terrestrial dry fly bite has been hit or miss and definitely better on the overcast days. I haven’t seen many hoppers around the river yet but they should be any day now. Most of the better fish Im finding have come tucked in tight to some structure or have been seen eating from a ways back and sight fished too. The fishing remains good on the droppers and as I said earlier, less and less whitefish are getting in the way. The Green is now to low to float in a drift boat without beating it up to bad, and if the weather is planning on being warm the water temp could get to high by lunch time. The Snake continues to fish well but is also getting a little higher in temp, not making it a danger to the fish but could slow your fishing down.
Availability
I am full up for the rest of the week but I do have Sunday 8/9 & Monday 8/10 open for anything! The rest of the week is pretty full but I do have an eager guide staff that works for me and could get you out on the water just the same!
