After 23 days and 25 guide trips, my wife finally made me take a day off and allowed me to recharge. The fishing has been awesome and it seems to keep getting better. The bigger fish are starting to appear from the tributaries and there seems to be an endless amount of fish to be caught!
Rivers/Water Update
Most of the rivers are still coming down and are just a tad high for this time of year but it isn’t bothering the fish. The water clarity is great and we are in the bubble of clear enough for fish to see, but not so clear that they can see you coming from a mile away. Trips to the Green are probably done for this year as it has dropped very fast, fishing hasn’t been great and its becoming to low to float. The Salt is where the fishing is at! Fish of all shapes and sizes are hungry and willing to eat flies. We have been battling through a lot of whitefish to get to the cutty’s somedays, but there could be worse problems. Mostly dry dropper fishing these days as I haven’t seen many hoppers and terrestrials around the river. For the first time this week I have been seeing a lot of flying ants so that could be the next move! Come check it out!
Availability
After a long stretch of working, my availability going into next week is pretty open! I have 8/4,5,6,&7 open and the fishing should be prime! Give me a call if any of these mid week dates can work for you! The best thing about the middle of the week is there is less boat traffic on the river as everybody is working.
Upcoming Week
This week I have a few trips on the snake and a few on the salt. It will be nice to get around and see some different water so I can bring you guys a different report. Mostly this week i’ll be trying to catch up on the clerical work as I make a better guide than an office assistant. As i’m sure most of you who have fished with me heard me say several times, “I miss having a Christy” but i’m making it work!
