Week 7 – Post rain, and the livings easy!

June 20, 2020

Well the rain finally ended last week and the rivers immediately started coming back down. The water is shaping up and the guide trips are going well. Here is an idea of what the past few trips looked like and what the future week should look like.

Rivers/Water Update
So most of the nearby rivers blew out huge, the Green tripled in size, the Snake went up almost 3,000 cfs, and the Salt fortunately was the least affected. When all was said and done it only went up 200 cfs. The day after the rainstorm the clarity was back to a couple feet and the fish were hungry. It has since been coming down and is at its lowest point for the summer. The fish are starting to look up with plenty of yellow sallies and a variety of mayflies flying around. We have been catching fish on many different nymphs, they don’t seem to be favoring any pattern just as long as it’s in there zone. The Green is fishing well as it has plummeted back down and is running normal for the time of year.

Availability
You guys have been great and keeping me busy! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. With that being said I do have 2 days open for next week on 7/14 and 15. After that my next days open are 7/21 and 22. Get em while they are hot!

Upcoming Week
I have a full week on the Salt and then will be heading to the Green with some clients on Sunday and Monday. The Salt should be getting better everyday and it already is providing plenty of good fishing. The big fish are tucked in tight to the bank but hungry if we can get the right drift. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
